Things that make me happy

Good afternoon and happy Monday!

Ok, so I've been MIA lately.  I had these grand plans of posting all about my Thanksgiving break and the fun stuff that we did, but I'm going to be honest, last week was one of the most stressful weeks I think I've ever had.  I'm not going to go into details, but the combination of being sick the first part of the week, and some personl stuff that was going on, it was one of the worst, yay!

But I'm feeling back to normal, and instead of a long, drawn out post, I wanted to share some thing that have made me happy over this past week.

1. My dog.  Seriously, its like dogs know when something isnt right, and all she wanted to do was snuggle with me all week long....it was the best :)

2. My Christmas tree!

its much more festive now since we added our ornaments, but I love how sparkly it is!
3. Good chats and fun times with friends.  I dont have any pics to document this, but there were quite a few hilarious and awkward moments.

4. Planning my cookie list for this year.  Every year around Christmas I take a day off work to bake all my Christmas cookies.  I get up really early, turn on every single Christmas movie I own, and bake all day.  I usually have everything packaged up by that evening, and its the best time ever :)

5. My long run.  13.1, which I did after not running all week ( for said above reasons), on the treadmill.  I got to the gym and it was packed, and by the time I was done there werent many people left - pretty sure people thought I was crazy.  I felt pretty good, except when I was done and my legs hurt, and I now have a sweet blister on the toe - yay running feet!

6. Baking.  I made some festive winter cupcakes for a friend's daughter's birthday on Saturday.  I think they are pretty darn cute.

per request they were gluten-free vanilla
6.  Last but not least, this guy, and this picture.  Makes me laugh every time :)

an oldie but a goodie picture, taken many moons ago, but never fails to make me bust a gut!  I'm sure Jake really appreciates this...

I also ran the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving.  I'll get that race report up asap!  So hope you are all have a great start to your week, talk later!

  1. Trust yourself. Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life. Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement.
