Sunday roundup ya'll!

Happy Sunday folks!  I hope everyone has had a great weekend.  Mine has been pretty low-key, but its been nice.  They weather has been awesome here, hopefully it has been where you guys are too - enjoy it while we can!

Saturday-

Workout: 3 mile run: hilly, sunny, HOT!

So today J-flo and his buds had their big bike race.  Well being the very supportive wife that I am, I decided to not wake up at the butt crack of dawn to help, and slept in, ate a waffle and went for a run instead :)  Here's the evidence...

Kashi waffles are back! with almond butter, sf syrup and 2 cuties:)

post run = sweaty mess, the long sleeve was a terrible idea
I met up with everyone towards the end of the bike race, and per usual we all went to Fiesta Mexicana for dinner after.  It always fun, but I always eat way to much!  Those damn chips and salsa just keep jumping into my mouth!
blurry group pic, forgot my camera so it a crappy phone pic, but you get the idea

my friend carly and I dominated the shiz outta this!  She's preggers so at least she has an excuse, I dont....
It was a good day all around!

Sunday
Workout: LiveFit Day 15 - Legs

Back to the gym today!  I'm on week three of my trainer and for the next 6 weeks we are focusing on building muscle.  So my workouts will start to get longer, with heavier weights and only about 10 reps instead of 12 like I was doing.  Only 2 more weeks and I will add in cardio, I cant wait!  Also, I am down to 2 rest days now instead of 3 like I've had the first 2 weeks.  I'm really excited for these muscle building weeks.  I'm hoping to see some major results.  I'm feeling motivated again to really push myself hard in the gym, and keep my eating clean.  I think I've figured out the nutrition for this plan, and how to incorporate it into my daily life even after the 12 weeks is up.  It always takes a bit of time to really figure out nutrition for me, and I think I have a good handle on it now.  That's the thing to remember, try not to get discouraged, that everything new thing takes a little bit of time to learn the ropes and what you like and don't like.  Every body is different, so what works for one person, might not work for you.  Its all about balance and taking time to figure it out

It was a great workout and I finished it up with a killer set of pushups.  Since becoming strong enough to no longer need to be on my knees, I LOVE doing pushups, they just make me feel so strong!

After the gym I had a quick protein packed snack
pumpkin bars and yogurt
I needed to restock my freezer with bars so I made Jamie Easons carrot cake protein bars and cinnamon swirl protein bread.  I tried the cinn. bread and it is super tasty, and the reviews for the carrot bars said those are really good too - will try them tomorrow.  Of course, I think you should make them too, so here's the link for the recipe :)

I had some major house cleaning to do so that took up the rest of my day. Now I'm sitting down watching Sideways with my second husband some tasty wine...
hey!  my glass is empty!
Has anyone else seen this movie? We haven't watched in awhile and I always forget how much I love it.  Even if your not into wine, its still a good flick.

Well that's all for me folks.  I have a few planned posts for this week, so stay tuned.  I'll touch on the topics of trending/social media/getting my blog out there, and I will break down why the heck I drink Shakeology for lunch every.single.day.  So if there are any questions please comment, I'd love for someone other than my mom to comment :)  Sorry mom, love ya!  Have a great rest of your weekend friends, catch ya tomorrow!

  2. Question on the protein bars! Which type of sugar or sugar substitute do you use for the recipe? :)

    1. I used Splenda cause it's all I had and wanted to use it up. I did find the Ideal brand so I will probably try that. I'm not a big fan of Splenda bit in a pinch it works
